Different Ways to Hide the Smell of Weed

While there are several ways to take cannabis, smoking is one of the most popular and convenient.

All you need is some weed and a rolling paper to be able to roll up a joint. Except, like everything else, smoking a joint comes at a price.

Apart from harming your lungs, the smell of nicotine combined with weed may be hazardous for others.

Although, for your stoner friends, it could mean a beacon of light, getting a sniff of your weed when they run out, for others, especially non-users, it could be unbearable and annoying.

Even if you do have a friendly neighborhood, it is always better to have a few tricks up your sleeve that could save you in times of urgency for a discreet smoking experience.

In this post, we will do just that and help you store and smoke your weed in such a way that nobody would get a sniff of it.

Without further ado, let’s get to it.

There is no better way to stop the smell of smoking from getting out than not smoking in the first place.

Fortunately, there are dozens of other alternatives that you can use to consume cannabis without having to smoke it.

From delicious cannabis treats such as edible gummies to medical-grade capsules and tinctures, you name it.

2. Switch to vape, pipe, or bowl

Can’t feel the same intensity of hit with these edibles?

No worries! There are many other less-smoky methods of smoking.

For instance, vaping produces far less odor and smoke compared to rolling paper used for burning.

Using a pipe, bong, or small bowl is yet another way of smoking pot without causing a lot of smoke.

3. Keep your weed locked & sealed

If the smell of weed is the last of your worries, unless it has something to do with losing its potency, then you must know that stored weed can also give away its smell.

Especially if it is not stored properly in an airtight container.

To avoid that, you must store/ seal your weed in a resealable jar or container and keep it in a dark place that is free from any light, moisture, and air.

4. Improvise or buy a sploof

A sploof, or doob tube is a filter that you can use to catch the smoke on its way out.

While there are plenty of readymade options, it is something you can DIY as well.

All you need is a cardboard cylinder from a toilet paper roll, dryer sheets or paper towels, and a rubber band to do so.

Just cover and enclose one end of the cardboard cylinder with a few dryer sheets or paper towels and secure it tightly with a rubber band.

Now while smoking, simply blow out the smoke through the open end and let the enclosed end or filter do the rest as it will not let the smoke out by absorbing much of it.

5. Smoke in the open if possible

Instead of smoking indoors and letting your furnishes catch the smell, it’s always better to go out to the balcony, terrace, garden, or yard to have a fun smoking experience.

That is, given you don’t have any restrictions in your area and nobody gets bothered by it.

6. Maintain proper ventilation

Should there be no other way to have your fill of cannabis than smoking inside, then at least make sure that there is proper ventilation.

Turn on your fan or exhaust to let the smoke out of the door or window as you smoke. Just make sure that it does not go out to your neighbor’s place.

7. Buy a home air-purifier

If you can afford it, get yourself a home air purifier to neutralize any bad odor from the room. Plus, it won’t let the smoke penetrate and stick to your favorite upholstery.

Just remember to turn it on before getting on with your smoking.

A few other measures to reduce and kill the smell of weed include burning scented candles and incense sticks. And diffusion of essential oils or room fragrance.
